Privacy Policy

Overview

WebpKit is a free, browser-based tool that converts WebP, AVIF, PNG, and JPG images on your device. This policy explains what happens when you use the site at the published WebpKit origin (and any future domain for the same product).

In short: conversion runs locally in your browser. We do not operate a cloud conversion API, we do not require accounts, and we do not show ads.

What we process — and what we don’t

We do not receive your image files for conversion. When you drop or select files, decoding and encoding happen in your browser using client-side APIs (including createImageBitmap and canvas toBlob). Image bytes are not uploaded to WebpKit servers as part of the conversion flow.

We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details through this product — there is no checkout and no paid plan.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising networks on this site.

Local processing

Conversion, quality settings, output format, and downloads are handled on the device running your browser. Output files (or a ZIP for batches) are generated locally and saved through your browser’s normal download mechanism.

Optional preferences — such as encode quality, output format, language (webpkit-lang-v1), naming rules, and whether to auto-download a single file — may be stored in your browser’s localStorage so they persist between visits on that same browser and device. You can clear them by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Hosting and network logs

The site is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most websites, requesting pages, scripts, styles, and public assets may create standard edge or access logs at the hosting/CDN layer (for example IP address, user agent, URL path, and timestamps). Those logs are used for operating and securing the delivery of the site.

We do not use hosting logs to inspect or reconstruct the content of images you convert, because those images are not sent to us for conversion.

Cookies and local storage

WebpKit does not rely on third-party advertising cookies. We may use browser localStorage (and similar browser storage) for preferences described above. If Cloudflare or the browser itself sets strictly technical cookies for delivery or security, that is outside the conversion feature and is not used by us to track image content.

Analytics

We do not run third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics or Plausible) on this site at the time of this update. If that ever changes, we will update this policy before enabling it.

Third-party scripts and sample files

Conversion runs with browser APIs and same-origin vendor scripts (for example JSZip) bundled with the site, not loaded from unrelated third-party ad or tracker domains for the core converter.

Files under /samples/ are public demo assets we publish so you can try the tool. They are not user uploads and should not be treated as private.

Children

WebpKit is a general-purpose utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because conversion is local and we do not require accounts, we do not solicit such information through the product.

International visitors

The default interface language is English. You may switch to Chinese via the on-page language control. We do not auto-switch language based on browser locale.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
